This includes those who will keep the air, water, road and rail passenger and freight transport modes operating during the COVID-19 response, including those working on transport systems through which supply chains pass

The Prime minister stated yesterday at 8.30pm, that social gatherings should be limited to no more than 2 people "unless they are from the same household"

This does not limit the number of passengers within vehicles.

Our view on this is quite simple really.

Use your discretion

Don't sit on ranks as this would be seen to encourage people to ignore the government instruction, plus it could also lead to more than 2 drivers "gathering" together, which would again be in breach.

Prebooked work is fine, on call work is fine, remember, if two nurses are travelling to work at a hospital and need our service, would we really be doing the country a service by refusing to take them to the front line?

Use your discretion, clean and sanitise your vehicles, try to ensure that passengers sit in the back and not next to you where ever possible."
